Although this news has been anticipated for a while, it has now been made official by the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL) – just ahead of this evening’s meeting – that this year’s London Show will not be going ahead.
The show had been pencilled in for its usual Saturday in October – the one on which the clocks change, which this year would have been the 28th, giving anyone who stays overnight an extra hour in the hotel at no extra cost. However, the usual venue – the St Giles Hotel in Feltham – is unavailable, and despite efforts to seek out an alternative coming up with a small number of possibilities, upon further investigation none of these turned out to be suitable.
The team has spilt gained fresh blood to assist with the efforts finding a replacement venue for next year – so hopefully we can see the fruits of their labour when that show is eventually announced, presumably for 27th October, 2024!
